Mission Statement
  The City of Corning Civil Service Commission administers the Civil Service Law for the City of Corning and Corning-Painted Post Area School District. The City of Corning Civil Service Commission classifies positions in the foregoing two municipal entities. The City of Corning Civil Service Commission is also responsible for payroll certification, examination preparation and establishing and maintaining eligible lists (all in accordance with New York State Civil Service Law and the Rules for the Classified Service of the Civil Service adopted by the City of Corning Civil Service Commission, which Law and Rules are amended from time to time).
